Eight months ago I reported this hazard on City property. It is the sidewalk adjacent to the City parking lot on Park Avenue. I walked by today and nothing had been done. Nothing. The site is a hazard and the City of Alameda had done nothing to mitigate the hazard. Could the responsible manager in PW please respond?

Public Works has received your street repair request (#19-07-0159) and assigned it to our street repair unit. We receive hundreds of these requests per year on virtually every stretch of Alameda's 125 miles of streets, and your electronic submission goes a long way to helping you and Public Works track the request.
Alameda's streets suffer from at least $25 million in deferred maintenance resulting from years of underinvestment. While Alameda has been fortunate to be able to pave more than 15 miles of street in the past three years, many of Alameda's streets, especially those that are not the busiest arterials, remain in poor condition and may explain the cause of the service you have requested.
If your request is to have a pothole filled, the request will be forwarded to Public Works Streets Supervisor Todd Williams. Public Works maintenance workers will typically fill the pothole within 30 days of the request's receipt. Please remember that filling potholes are temporary repairs.
If your request is to have a larger street repair, including to curb/gutter or a ponding issue, this process might require the street be re-paved, which can take much longer. For more information on Alameda's 5-year paving plan, please see https://alamedaca.gov/public-works/public-works-key-documents and scroll down to the 5 Year Resurfacing Plan under Other Key Documents. This is updated once every two years and is based on the condition of the pavement and coordination with various utilities.
The more complicated street repair requests are routed for evaluation by Public Works Project Manager Trung Nguyen. These requests help Trung recommend which streets to place on the 5-year Resurfacing Plan, which is driven largely by the condition of our streets and funding constraints.
