Description
I hope you have a minute to hear a concern of mine. I live across the street from the FIre Department on Pacific Ave. Since I moved to this neighborhood I have noticed that there is a steady stream of cars that pull into the fire department to let off passengers and to make their U-Turns. Cars are constantly stopping in the middle of the street.
Frequently, the fire trucks are arriving back at the station and find a car sitting in their driveway - the Fire Truck has to blast their horn and wake up the driver who may be stopped there to browse his smart phone or let passengers off or just waiting to make his illegal U_Turn.
If you were to send a car over on a Saturday or Sunday starting around 11am through the evening ... you would see car after car pulling into the Fire Station driveway to make a U-Turn.
I think it might help if you were to post a larger "No U-Turn" sign and post the signs where they are more visible - perhaps paint "No U-Turn" on the street?. It would also help if you were to start enforcing the policy by giving out a few tickets. I think that would make it much safer so the Fire Trucks can get in and out when they are responding to emergencies.

We have designed striping and signage improvements. The striping improvements will be included in the next batch of striping work for our contractor. I do not have an estimated time frame as the work needs to be scheduled with the contractor.
The signage improvements will be sent to our maintenance staff and they typically complete the work within 30-60 days.
