Description
semis/18 wheelers have increased their activity down Mosley ave. this street is narrow and cars for residents are parked on either side. my understanding is that these vehicles are not allowed on this street.
on 3.28, one 18wheeler drove on the curb and ran over the stop sign facing mosley. officers from alameda came by and propped the sign up.
on 3/29 again an 18 wheeler failed to negotiate the turn and ran thru the curb and again knocked the stop sign down.
in both incidents, the drivers failed to stop or acknowledge the damage they caused.
these drivers unsafe driving violates California vehicle traffic codes not to mention the risk of causing an accident due to the missing stop signs

Thank you for reporting your concerns about street safety in Alameda. For traffic enforcement needs (moving violations), call the Alameda Police non-emergency line at 510-337-8340. Mosley is not a on the truck route map, but that does not prohibit commercial trucks from using the street. Alameda Municipal Code Section 8-24.1 states that truck drivers must use truck routes “except when it is impractical to do so or when necessary to traverse another street or streets to a destination for the purpose of loading or unloading.” This makes it difficult to enforce trucks that aren’t using truck routes. Some neighboring cities incorporate “prohibited streets” for their truck routes, but Alameda does not have this at this point.
