Description
There is a box truck constantly parked right on the corner of Lincoln and mozart who blocks viewing any traffic on Lincoln on the left side. It is crazy dangerous and I’m surprised there haven’t been more crashes because of this guy. There are so many other spaces that are less dangerous for that person to park in yet they keep taking that exact spot and putting people in danger. I’m not sure what the solution is other than speaking with the truck owner or adding a crosswalk there so they can no longer block the view of half the street.

Thank you for reporting your concerns about street safety in Alameda. The corner of Mozart and Lincoln has red curbs to increase visibility. If the truck is parked in front of the red curb, please call 510-522-PARK to request parking enforcement. If you think the red curb is insufficient, please reply and I'll share your report with the Lincoln/Marshall/Pacific project managers (www.AlamedaCA.gov/LincolnMarshallPacific). Otherwise a polite conversation with the truck driver could be a good approach.

Your report will help inform the City of Alameda’s work to achieve our Vision Zero goal of eliminating traffic fatalities and severe injuries. We will use street safety reports, including yours, in combination with crash data and equity indicators to prioritize and design street safety investments. This evaluation will generally happen on an annual basis, with some exceptions for clear and pressing trends. Issues that the City deems to be immediate safety concerns will be elevated for quick action.
